Abstract


Communication signal modulation recognition means making accurate decision of the modulation mode under the cooperation or noncooperation environment and it has significant application in the intercepted signal processing of radio monitoring and electronic countermeasures fields. The early research mainly focused on the common digital modulated in the mobile communication, but current situation demands recognition technology fits more signals in different wireless communication environment. The paper had discussed a kind of space time code called unitary space time code (USTC) which is also a special phase modulation mode. Based on the high order statistics theory, we had proposed the high order characteristic value algorithm and had made simulation and analysis in the aeronautical channel environment. The main works can be summarized as followed.1. The high order statistics characteristic of the USTC had been studied. USTC is a kind of noncoherent space time codes and actually it is a kind of special phase modulation mode. Aiming at the particularity of its signals structures, we had proposed a joint high order statistics algorithm based on the characteristic function of random vector and random matrix respectively, then we had compared and analyzed the high order stastic characteristic between the USTC and PSK signals in SISO and MIMO system respectively.2. The algorithm for modulation recognition of USTC in MIMO system had been proposed and applied in fading channel. Firstly we had studied the time frequency charteristic of USTC and confirmed that the algorithm based on instantaneous charteristic can not be used in USTC modulation recognition. According to the contrast of the characteristic, we had proposed the algorithm based on the high order statistic parameter. The simulation had been conducted under AWGN, Rician channel in SISO system and Rayleigh fading channel in MIMO system. The result had showed that the algorithm distinguished the USTC and MPSK signals effectively and had good performance.3. The USTC and MPSK signal recognition combined with receiving diversity technology had been applied in the simulation in aeronautical channel. We had used the USTC recognition algorithm and extended the algorithm based on forth order cumlant to the aeronautical channel scenario. According to the time varying channel fading owing to the Doppler frequency shift and multipath propagation, we had proposed the method that combined with the receiving diversity in MIMO system. The algorithm had improved the probability of correct recognition, and had realized the signal recognition under the time-varying aeronautical channel in the ultra-short wave band.The research had showed that the algorithm based on the high order statistics could classify the USTC and other pahse modulation signals effectively. The signals characteristic value in aeronautical channel is similar to the mobile communication system and the utilization of receiving diversity technology could improve and optimize the algorithm performance.
