Presently, streaming media application and mobile terminals have been universal, so industrial is active in exploiting wireless streaming media application for growing demand of clients. In wireless network, streaming media service are challenged by high error rate, delay and dithering of Wireless channel. It is critical to guarantee the quality of service of wireless streaming media.The media coding technology and transportation mechanism of wireless streaming media are introduced firstly in this paper, and then the key technologies of transmission are discussed. According to the recent exploration of TCP, a streaming media transportation mechanism is proposed to handle with congestion control that affects the efficiency of TCP mostly. In presented scheme, proportional low priority probing packages are inserted into the normal data package by source end, probing package and normal ones are discarded selectively based on the priority in line with the congestion degree. End clients return the lost rates of probing package and normal one to sender, while these feedbacks would be used by sender to figure out the reasons of package loss-link error or congestion, and then sender would adjust the congestion window size to avert congestion on the basis of this result. Simulation experiment testifies that the proposed project can cope with the congestion situation more effectively than traditional TCP and gains higher throughput and smoother transmission rate comparably.Due to the widely-used drop-tail strategy in current routers, the improved project which depends on priority strategy support is efficient in small scale and middle scale networks instead of massive network. At last, this paper points out the future research area-integration of media coding technology and wireless transmission technology.13fingures,36references.
