Abstract


With the rapid development of the information age, modern communicationtechnology with each passing day, media in the increasingly prominent role in people’sdaily life and social development. Represented by the Internet, new media, with itsdiverse, entertaining, interactive and virtual property attracts a large number of collegestudents, and profound impact on their behavior. In all media, brought about by thecomplicated and complex information, students reach higher levels of media literacyonly if, to meet the demands made on students ’ development in the information age.Therefore, through media literacy education for college students, raising the level ofmedia literacy for college students, not only for college students ’ awareness in themedia, the ability to select and contact with the media, and helps develop students ’correct interpretation, screening and judging by the media’s ability to provideinformation, so that they learn how to effectively utilize resources of the mass media topromote their own development. As a subject of media literacy education in collegesand universities of contemporary college students and enhance their media literacyeducation, is an important element of implementing quality-oriented education ofcollege students in the information age, college students adapt to the requirements of thefuture information society.As early as in the early1930of the20th century, the United Kingdom of scholarshave begun to advocate for media literacy education research and practice. After morethan half a century of research development, not only in media education theory of theWest has invested more and more power in the study, and had to turn theory into actionfor more education. And Western National compared to, my real of media literacyeducation research only just pulled prelude, most research are also only stay in puretheory angle, far is not in-depth to social practice among, mass on "media literacy andeducation" of cognitive and attention degree are also enough, media literacy educationof development also needs in reference abroad has experience of based Shang,combined national country in practice in the gradually exploration and research.This article based on the age of new media based on media and social change,integration of survey data, analysis of media literacy and access to media literacyeducation for college students in Chongqing status and existing problems, sum up thecharacteristics of media literacy for college students in Chongqing, analysis of thecauses of college students ’ level of media literacy is not high in Chongqing City andpractice of media literacy education-related reason for the slow implementation.Combined with features of the era, the media’s specificities and characteristics ofcollege students in Chongqing itself, raised in media literacy education for collegestudents in Chongqing in the new media environment, and a series of recommendationsand measures to improve media literacy for college students, and eventually formed theGovernment, media, community and University collaboration by four common buildingpractice strategies for media education system. Hope that media literacy education forcollege students through the active and wide, forming a virtuous development amongcollege student groups and the mass media, further development of college students ’ability to adapt to the information society, improve themselves all-round development.
