Abstract


The economical growth can promote the development of a country and the increase of social welfare. Therefore, it is a so key issue for every country. Across the centuries, many economists have studies the issue. The study of production function and the appearance of Total factor productivity make people want to know what the motivation of the economical growth is or what factors can affect it. In China, after several decades, the reformand opening-up policy makes it develop fast. Annual GDP growth rate is always above7%. But because of economic globalization, the fierce competition in the international market reveals a few problem of our country. So study the productivity and the factors of productivity are very important. It can make the country know how to adjust the policy of the development, so as to keep the increase of economics.As different methods to measure the productivity can produce different results. This paper chooses two main methods and optimizes them, then examine the precision of the methods by estimating the productivities of the Chinese industrial corporations. This paper also studies the export, R&D and the financing constraints, and discusses their influence to the productivities of corporations.First, this paper summaries the main methods of Total factor productivity, uses significance tests to examine whether export, R&D and financing constraints effect medium-input significantly, then builds up a survival probability function, which related to the influencing factors, and finally puts the survival probability function and the medium-input function, which with more independent variable, into the OP and LP methods. Second, the paper is based on the modified methods to compute the total factor productivities of Chinese corporations, and then use the export, R&D and financing constraints to establish the regression method, which related to total factor productivities, and apply Generalized method of moments (GMM) to study the influencing factors. The results show that the optimized methods can include more information about productivities and avoid the Selective Bias. Also the optimized LP method can overcome the endogeneity problems better, compared to the OLS or the optimized OP method. In the empirical study of the regression method, both the optimized LP and OP method show that export, R&D and financing constraints obviously promote the productivities of the Chinese corporations. However, when put the regression method into different regions, export and R&D appear regional effects.
