Abstract


Delay of gratification is considered to be the individual psychological tendency of universal existence and self control component, but because the individual development stage, the situation and the different areas of study, its unique way to respond and choice of occupation, so the delay of gratification research should follow the principle of domain specificity. Occupation delay of gratification is delay of gratification in the occupation career of people, in order to better accomplish the task, access to more benefits, achieve higher occupation target and a series of valuable long-term result, and willing to give up the rest, entertainment or impulsive act without the benefit to the current work of instant gratification opportunities of self regulation ability. This concept has drawn the psychology, management science and the widespread interest in the business community and the common concern, but overall, the occupation of the delay to meet is in the initial stage, the existing research in the field of occupation on the delay of gratification is briefly discussed.In this study, occupation delay of gratification, job performance and occupation satisfaction as the object of study, conducted a questionnaire survey of372knowledge workers, through descriptive analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis method to investigate the demographic variables in the occupation delay difference meet, work performance and occupation satisfaction on three variables are significant, and discusses related the relationship between the three and goal orientation in the occupation delay of gratification on job performance of knowledge worker, moderating role of occupation satisfaction in effect, result:(1) The effect of age on individual performance, the individual older work performance is higher; marital status and executive of occupation satisfaction effect, the married individual than unmarried individuals can feel the higher occupation satisfaction, as the administrative duties of the people as the administrative duties than the future people can feel more high occupation satisfaction.(2) Control individual background variables and background variables, research results show that the delay of gratification of occupation and job performance and occupation satisfaction is significantly positively related to the occupation, delay of gratification can positively predict job performance and occupation satisfaction of knowledge employees.(3) Goal orientation as the self control ability of an individual has significant and positive effect on job performance and occupation satisfaction. Learning goal orientation and performance goal orientation are and work performance and occupation satisfaction significantly positive correlation, and the correlations of learning goal orientation and performance and occupation satisfaction related to higher achievement goal orientation and job performance and occupation satisfaction.(4) The hierarchical regression analysis, display results after, control the main effect in occupation, delay of gratification effect on job performance and satisfaction in the process of occupation, goal orientation plays a certain role of regulation. But in the process, the two dimensions of goal orientation have different influences on the relationship between delay meet the occupation and job performance and occupation satisfaction. Only a performance goal orientation of individuals in occupation delay effect on job performance and occupation satisfaction process plays a regulatory role for the occupation, delay of gratification ability of the individual, with high performance goal orientation than low performance goal orientation can achieve good performance and feel the higher occupation satisfaction. And learning goal orientation in the relationship between occupation and job performance in delay of gratification and delay relationship satisfaction and occupation satisfaction does not play a regulatory role. So, for the achievement goal orientation of occupation, delay of gratification influence on their work performance and occupation satisfaction will be greater.
