Warehousing activities, proceeding throughout the manufacturing process, potential profitsinherent in it is the easiest to be ignored. Therefore, inventory management is no longerguarantee the normal production and operation of enterprises, but is the balance between supplychain management mechanisms, is the source of creating the profit. Therefore, it is of greatsignificance to effectively design, optimize and manage for warehousing activities for thoseenterprises especially the equipment manufacturing with increasing number of product variety.Focusing on the Warehouse Management of these enterprises, effective materialsmanagement and reasonable means of material flow should be adopted to ensure that variousmaterials needed for the production could arrive at the correct position, at the right time, andwith appropriate quantities. And operator in the production line could use these materials timely.Consequently, the production system will be highly efficient.This paper consists of two parts, including lean management of warehouse and leanplanning of workshop materials distribution. Through the analysis of current research situationhome and abroad, this article firstly elaborates the guiding ideology of lean warehousemanagement, and systemically introduces the relevant theory knowledge of WarehouseManagement. Classifying materials by improved Activity Based Classification on the base ofanalyzing the inventory management status, formulating the inventory control strategies basedon lean thinking for all kinds of materials. Besides, combined with the actual situation inlogistics distribution, this paper puts forward the warehouse layout optimization solution basedon Lean Thinking and making rules of standard work flow of distribution. Meantime, this paperpresents the measures to deal with special conditions for the implementation of leanwarehousing management in assembly manufacturing enterprises.
