Abstract


The historic and cultural blocks are the concrete and iconic cultural heritage, which leave us a direct visual impression and feeling. It is the medium both in substance and spirit. The heritage contains not only the static buildings and constructions, but also the historic and cultural messages conveyed by the substantial buildings.As the cultural heritage, the question which needs solving without any delay nowadays is how to adjust the heritage to the function of modern life. In other words, the question is how to make the areas keep their vitality while reflecting the history. Here, this paper will take the five historic and cultural blocks which own the biggest and concentrated residence for previous personages in Tian Jin City as an example. Through the specific description of the five blocks, the paper aims to let the five blocks glow the new splendor and transmit rich cultural message by the modern ways of humanism tourism development.The whole paper is divided into three parts:The first part shows the general situation of the five historic and cultural blocks. The first introduces the Tian Jin City, including the general introduction of natural and human geography. By looking up the historic documents, the paper retells the historic development of the city in order to give readers a overall impression of Tian Jin. The second section mainly introduces the general situation and the historic development of the five blocks, initially pointing out the develop process, location, characteristics and other aspects of the five blocks.The second part is a typical presentation of the five blocks. This part is more profound than the former one. The paper is mainly to show the difference of the typical style and features between the five blocks and the other historic blocks from constructive and spatial aspects. Here, the first section introduces the peculiar landscape of the five blocks from three aspects. First, they are the biggest crowds of the former personages’ homes. Second, there are buildings with various styles. Third, they have unique constructive feature. The second section introduces the spatial landscape of the five blocks. By the elaboration of the historic roads and the green landscape of the five blocks, it shows us a more beautiful spatial screen.The third part shows the present situation of tourism development in the five historic and cultural blocks. Through the introduction of the second part, we can get a general idea of the five blocks. The historic and cultural blocks are the distinctive and glamorous blocks, rich in tourism resources. It is worth excavating further. Based on these points, the paper takes the theories which refer to the protective development of the historic and cultural blocks in internal and abroad as a guide. Through the analysis of the tourism development of the five blocks in recent years, the paper finds some problems. Then, according to the comparison and analysis on a large number of practical investigation and cases, the paper proposes a more suitable developing model for its development so that we can achieve its historic and cultural value, economic and social value.There are two new points in the paper.First, in the content of the research, compared with the previous ones which only study the building or the protection and the transformation of other constructions, it will pay attention to the tourism development of the five historic blocks by the increase of the tourists. And, through the discussion, it will draw people’s attention to the tourism development in the blocks.Second, on the methods of the research, the paper standing on the history and human geography, combined with the city planning, architecture, economic management and others, shows the typical style and the problems which exist in the tourism development process. It also finds out the cases solved.
