Abstract


The attribution of the students' previous learning outcomes will cause the corresponding emotional changes and decide on the future success of prediction, and the effort to pay for the future learning tasks. For teachers understand the students attributed the success or failure of the learning outcomes will be conducive to better stimulate students 'learning, thus further affecting the students' learning process and learning outcomes. Attribution theory has been proven to have a significant impact on the English learning achievements. Attributed to the success of students' English learning research focuses on the university level English language learning, the study attributed the success of English learners on the high school stage is relatively small. In addition, the existing research mainly based on quantitative research, qualitative research or a combination of qualitative and quantitative research less. Therefore, using a combination of qualitative and quantitative research study of high school students learning English attributions of success and research in English teaching has an important significance. Based on this, the thesis, the tendency to attribute the achievement of high school English learners. The purpose of this study is to investigate the following three aspects: (1) high school English learners attributions of success overall Disposition? (2) different gender, different learning levels the achievements attributed What is the difference between learners? (3) what factors attributed to the unsuccessful learners learning English tend to have a greater impact? In this study, two ways of quantitative and qualitative research, quantitative research using questionnaires, qualitative research student interviews. The quantitative study selected 406 High School students in two high schools for the study, 218 male students 188 female students. The qualitative analysis of the selected four learning unsuccessful learners as interview subjects. The results are summarized as follows: 1) In general learners tend to English learning successes and failures attributed to ability, effort on the two internal factors, relatively few learning success or failure attributed to luck, learning environment and other external factors; 2) boys and girls of school failure attributed a significant difference in terms of ability and luck, boys tend to fail due to the luck while girls tend to fail due to the ability; different levels of learners in learning success and failure attributed to a significant difference in terms of ability, effort and learning environment, there is no difference in terms of luck. Learning more successful tend to attribute success to ability and effort, the failure is attributed to the efforts and the environment, without successful learners tend to attribute success to the environment, their failures to ability; 3) confidence, interested in learning atmosphere, the teacher's attention and guidance between students help is unsuccessful impact factors attributed to the tendency of English learners. In this study, English teaching the following revelation: teachers according to male and female students and students of different learning levels attributed Disposition attribution training for students; through meaningful activities inside and outside class stimulate students to learn English interest, control the difficulty of the task, set different for different levels of students learning objectives to enhance the unsuccessful learner's self-confidence, to give the unsuccessful learners more attention and learning methods guidance, organizations learning means to consolidate students' positive attribution mode.
