Abstract


The efficiency has been an important goal of the core issues of economics research , but also the life insurance companies in the pursuit of business management . The life insurance business efficiency is one of the important factors that affect whether sustainable development , but it is also a measure of life insurance enterprises play an important insurance function and the competitiveness of enterprises indicators . With the rapid development of China's life insurance industry , its role in our economy is growing , in a competitive environment between foreign life insurance companies today , this paper studies the efficiency of China 's life insurance industry and its influencing factors , has some theoretical and practical significance . In this paper, an overview of the relevant research literature at home and abroad , a brief overview of the basic meanings of efficiency and efficiency measures , comparative analysis of the various methods , combined with the basic situation of China 's life insurance industry , choose the most life efficiency frontier method - data envelopment analysis method , the overall efficiency of 31 life insurance companies in China 2008 , pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency calculations and give life insurance companies invest the degree of redundancy , analysis and comparison of the state-owned life insurance companies and the comprehensive efficiency between foreign life insurance companies , pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency . Then we further study the factors that affect the life insurance business efficiency , the comprehensive efficiency DEA method estimates the value of the dependent variable , multiple regression analysis on the impact of the microscopic characteristics of the life insurance business efficiency . The results show that : the life insurance firm size and the structure of property rights on life insurance efficiency is not significant ; market share , marketing staff ratio and per capita premium income and corporate efficiency as a significant positive correlation between strong ; negative profit growth rate of the life insurance business efficiency correlated significantly strong. On the basis of the above analysis , we propose a possible way to improve the efficiency of China's life insurance industry : increasing the premium income of life insurance companies market share ( to strengthen product innovation , expanding the life insurance business ; strengthen the banking and insurance cooperation , develop marketing channels ) ; promote The restructuring of the life insurance business combination , optimize the structure of the life insurance market ; optimize staffing structure , improve staff quality ; insurance funds utilization efficiency , broaden the investment channels , increased investment income .
