This thesis is a taxonomic study of the family Ricaniidae(Hemiptera:Fulgoroidea) from Southwest in China.It includes the following parts:introduction,historic review,materials and methods,morphology,biology,biogeography and taxonomy.In the introduction part,the research history on Ricaniidae is reviewed.In the morphology part,the taxonomic characters and terms are outlined.In the biology section,some biological habits including behaviors,hosts,damages and controls are summarized.In the taxonomic part,21 species of 6 genera are described,of which 1 genus and 11 species are new to science.Keys are given to all generic and specific taxa concerned.The research history of each genus is reviewed.The faunal structures of the Chinese Ricaniidae at specific levels were examined.In conclusion,48 species of the Chinese Ricaniidae belong to 3 types of distribution in Zoogeographic regions in the world.Among them,11specises are distributed in Oriental+ Palaearctic region,which make up 22.92%,while 33 specises in Oriental and 3 specises in Palaearctic region,accounting for 68.75% and 6.25%.Ricaniidae in China belong to 13 types of distribution in Zoogeographic regions in China.Among them,the number of species in XiNan region is the most(22.91%),and HuaNan region is the second(20.83%).The new genus,new species and new record species to Chinese fauna are listed as follows:New genus:Hooka gen.nov.New species:Ricania curvatua sp.nov.,Ricania forka sp.nov.,Ricania flaka sp.nov., Ricania longispina sp.nov.,Pochazia trispina sp.nov.,Pochazia rongjiaensis sp.nov., Ricanoides leishanensis sp.nov.,Ricanula kaliensis sp.nov.,Rcianula annulata sp.nov.,Hooka luodianensis sp.nov.,Euricania circinata sp.nov,.
