Abstract


John Ashbury since the 1950s is well known in contemporary American poetry, is an important poet of the New York School, with its mystique and poetry writing surreal style known. He specializes in using the techniques of abstract expressionism, emphasizing the poetry of the unconscious, spontaneous and instinctive. These features make the arcane language of his poetry, but also so that he therefore was criticized by critics. Many critics believe that his poetry abstract, less poetic coherence, difficult to understand, even meaningless. This paper tries to analyze the poet's first two poems \This analysis is used to discuss gender based on the edge of the \\Ashbury's first book of poems, \and gradually developed into the yearning for gay liberation. Two poems on the one hand due to elucidate homosexuals caught in \Ashbury's poetry in this \gay hesitantly narrative style.
