Abstract
|
In this paper, the modified distorted wave Born approximation (DWBA) is used to calculate the triple differential cross sections (TDCS) for electrons of intermediate and low energy impacting noble gas atoms He(1s2), Ne(2s2), Ar(3s2), Kr(4s2) and Xe(5p6). Theoretical investigation has been presented to study the correlation-relaxation effect and the post-collision interaction (PCI) of target atoms or residual-ions in (e,2e) process for intermediate and low energy electrons impact single ionization of atoms. Theoretical method, based on the traditional DWBA, has introduced correlation polarization and Ward-Macek factor which partially reflects PCI to modify the traditional polarization in the near-target region. Theoretical calculated results show that the TDCS presented by the modified DWBA are more approach to experimental data than traditional DWBA results. It is proved that the post-collision interaction is capable to improve the angular position of the TDCS in (e,2e) reaction. In the intermediate and low (e,2e) reaction, the correlation polarization based on the density function theory (DFT) is able to modify traditional polarization correctly, therefore describing correlation-relaxation effect of target atoms or residual-ions in (e,2e) process more effectively.
