Abstract


With the rapid development of the medical treatment and health system reform in China, it is of great significance to build a sound Hospital Information System (HIS). However, there are several problems, such as low level of information collection, insufficient management and the shortage of IT technologies and applications, in the information system for medicament administration of the third class general hospital nowadays. And the problems exsited above have largely prevented the progress of high-quality management. Thus, how to design a modern information system, which can improve both work efficiency of staff members of the hospital and management quality, guarantee the accuracy, timeliness and safety of using clinical medicine, and realize medical assurance overall the country, have attractived more and more concern and attentions in the general hospital.This thesis explores a“C/S framework-based HIS for the third class general hospital”with the purpose of promoting the efficiency of the information system and improving the management of hospital pharmacy. The system adopts C/S set-up frame and selects Sybase12.5 as the database platform and PowerBuilder10 as development tool for client applications. According to analytical report about current situation of medicament administration in the third class general hospital and related theories from both quality management system and process management, a HIS for third class general hospital can be designed and realized finally.Presently, this system has been operating online successfully in a third class general hospital. It has been proved that the system with reasonable designing and perfect functions, can enhance the level of medicament administration and the working efficiency of hospital and promote the digitalization and modernization of both medicament and hospital management. It really plays a positive role in realizing an automatic hospital.
