Abstract


It requires a deep understanding of the relations between products and their users to design usable and adorable products. It has an important effect on product styling. The relations concentrate on dynamic relations existing among products and their users. The behavioral factors of products have been probed into, including user’s behavioral factors of cognition, using and behavioral experience factors. These factors are essential to product styling. They are the key foundations to generate styling elements such as shape, structure and material, etc.When a product styling is carrying on, the designer should define things such as: what the product is, what it can make, who will use it and the kind of behavioral characteristic what the user has, what material and structure it use to realize product function issue. The following item have been studied through the thesis. The relations between users and products have been studied through the connection by "behavior". The aspects of shape, color, and feel direction are related to behavior of cognition. The aspects of shape yardstick, material, and structure are related to using behavior. The aspects of products should be incorporated with the factors of sense organ and interactive behavior experience.The thesis bases on relation of user’s behaviors to styling of the products, regarding user as the research centre. The thesis puts forward a design method basing on user’s behavior: setting up user’s model at first, getting the using purposes clearly, then analyzing user’s concrete behavioral procedure and the designing requirements of every stage, turning them into the styling key elements of the functional positions of the products through the corresponding behavioral factor requirements, combining the key elements to get the design draft. Finally, a case of product styling embodiment has been presented to show how the design method works.
