Abstract

School P.E(short for physical education) known as the important content of the quality-oriented education has greatly drawn many scholars’and educators’attention. Physical health of the juvenile is not the basic prerequisite to serving our country, but the proof of the vigor of youth of the Chinese nation. Therefore, the primary schools should establish the idea----“Health Be the First”. In July, 2001, the Department of education published“the Teaching Standard of Physical Education and Health”and put it into effect among the primary and middle schools. It puts forward the basic requirements for the students at different periods: knowledge and technic, procedure and methods, attitude and concept of value, according to their different physical and psychological features. In the recent years, the experts have widely done some researches and on-the-spot investigations on the present state of the school P.E in Shijiazhuang city. The results suggest that the school P.E there is developing steadily on a condition of positive exploration. Shijiazhuang, the provincial capital, is the center of politics and culture of Hebei, as a result, it would be directly meaningful if we do some researches on its present state of school P.E teaching. This thesis is to put forward the developing countermeasure of the solution via the research on the present state of the P.E teaching in the primary schools of Shijiazhuang city.In this thesis, I do a sampling investigation which is basic on stochastic principle to the chief leaders in charge of the P.E courses, the P.E teachers, headteachers, and students who come from 20 primary schools chosen from the 205 primary schools of 5 districts(31 in QiaoDong district, 35 in QiaoXi district, 38 in Chang’an district, 51 in XinHua district, and 50 in YuHua district). The writing methods used in this thesis include literature review, research methods(research on papers and expert interview), and data statistic, and so on. Studying the present state of the P.E teaching in the primary schools of Shijiazhuang, I conclude some features of the P.E teaching in these schools, and view them in the higher level of theoretics. I also conclude varieties of problems met in the P.E teaching procession and set up the feasible plans for the teaching and development of P.E.The study achievements in this thesis suggest:1、The chief leaders in charge of the P.E teaching do not pay enough attention to the innovation of the P.E course mentally. Thousands of students can’t carry out“the Sunny P.E Project”entirely.2、The rate of offering the P.E course is practically high, but there are not enough lessons in some primary schools. 40.18%of the P.E teachers can’t carry out the new teaching standard completely, and the way to the P.E teaching appears to be diversified.3、Most of the P.E teachers in the primary schools who have passion and creating spirit are young or middle-aged ones with certificates of high degrees. Though some relative weaknesses exist in the condition of teaching and research in the physical education of Shijiazhuang city, the condition of further educating is moving on in a pleasant way approximately.4、The job as a P.E teacher is especially tiring in Shijiazhuang city and30.88%of the P.E teachers hold an opinion that the salary is too low and the welfare of P.E teachers should be improved. Most of the P.E teachers lay stress on bringing forth the students’creating spirit, developing the students’practical capability, cultivating the students’interest in P.E, promoting the students’physical ability and forming P.E practicing consciousness.5、The present playground and instruments in half of the primary schools in Shijiazhuang city can’t meet the need of the P.E teaching. Most of the pupils take part in the P.E activities less than an hour per day, which can’t catch the fixed national standard.6、Only a few of the headteachers can coordinate the task of the P.E positively. There are still some headteachers who can’t recognize the importance of the P.E and can’t make the students take part in the physical training.Finally, this study puts forward the corresponding developing countermeasures according to the practical condition, and suggests that: the chief leaders in charge of the P.E course in the primary schools should put more emphasizes on the P.E teaching, change the traditional concept towards P.E thoroughly, meanwhile, they should also raise their recognition of the P.E teaching; the concept of the P.E teachers should be changed, both of their welfare and social position in school should be improved, and their ability in the specified field should be promoted; the primary schools should bring in investments for P.E in a broad way, widen the playground, beef up the construction of the instruments, and develop some new P.E items to meet the need of the P.E teaching; the course resources of P.E should be used and developed positively; the headteachers who are responsible for realizing the aim of the P.E teaching in their schools should be encouraged to act as a bridge in order to be helpful for the P.E teaching. More scientific references should be provided for the relevant education administrative department and more bases for the developing direction of the P.E teaching in the primary schools.
