Abstract

For a long period, it is difficult for SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprise) and farmers to get small business financing. This problem has result in a limitation in the development of China’s rural economy and society. As a new financing style, microfinance has played an important role in dealing with issues of Agriculture, Farmer and Rural Area. It also contributed a lot to build a New Socialist Countryside. These days, we are accelerating the reformation of rural financing in order to construct an inclusive financial system. As a product of incremental reform, micro-loan companies are growing rapidly for their flexible operation mode. Commercial micro-loan companies also faced with some constraints while increasing the supply of rural finance: Shortage of follow-up funds, unclear legal status, lack of risk control ability, not enough human resources, imperfect corporate governance and internal control, all these factors are affecting their sustainable development.In view of good economic and social benefits that micro-loan companies have achieved, to study the survival and development obstacles they faced not only help to speed up the healthy development of micro-loan companies, but also help to improve our rural financial service system. In accordance with the method of ask questions, analyze problems and solve problems, as well as through detailed analysis of the impact factors of micro-loan companies and to draw on some foreign successful experiences. This thesis come to a conclusion that the basis of micro-loan companies’healthy development is to strengthen their own capacity-building, and the government’s policy support and supervision can guarantee its sustainable and healthy development.The first chapter gives a brief description of the background, significance, research method and train of thought, and the current research situation both at home and broad. The second chapter reviews the relevant theories of microfinance. The third chapter describes the practice of China’s microfinance and present condition of Micro-loan companies. The fourth chapter analyses the restrictive factors in the development of Micro-loan companies. The fifth chapter focuses on the successful experiences of foreign microfinance and enlightenments derived form it. The sixth chapter gives some rational suggestions on how to promote Micro-loan companies to get sustainable and healthy development. The last chapter summarizes the ideas and prospects for future study.
