Abstract


From 1994, the research of core competiton has been widely concerned by domestic academic. January 25, 2000, Cheng Siwei, a senior professor of management point out enhance the core competition of enterprises is one of the seven keys in business management in the report "a number of important academic issues and discipline frontier of Management Science”. Currently, we focus on how to identify and develop core competiton of enterprises, and the use of core business competition to seek long-term development.The key of this study is the identification of core competition in third-party logistics enterprises. From the available research, a considerable number of studies are general references. In recent years, there are some evaluation studies of core competition. There is a huge difference between core competition evaluation and identification. Core competition evaluation is try to find out“whether the competition is strong”; core competition identification is try to find out“what is the core competition”.In this paper, we take the third-party logistics companies in South of Jiangsu as the research object. The author reviews the research literature, summarized the factors which influence the third party logistics enterprise’s core competition, interview and survey the third-party logistics companies. According to references and results survey, make out 39 identified indicators of third party logistics enterprise’s core competition initally. In order to prove the validity of the preliminary identification indicators, the author designed a questionnaire and investigating. Given 62 valid data, we do membership analysis, correlation analysis, index discriminating analysis, factor analysis and reliability analysis and a series of statistical analysis by using SAS9.0 and SPSS16.0 statistical software, excluding 15 invalid indexes. Combining subjective and objective, the author uses AHP and variation coefficient method to calculation the weight, which is scientifical and rigorous. The author uses fuzzy matter-element method to indetifide third-party logistics enterprises’core competition in southern and northern Jiangsu as an empircal research.The main conclusions are: the author designs third-party logistics enterprises’identification index system from the equipment and technology capacity, human resources capacity, organizational capacity, financial capacity, corporate culture, market capacity and the external industry environment. We find the third party logistics companies’core competition in South Jiangsu is external industry environment, the market capacity and equipment and technology capacity. But compared to south Jiangsu, the third-party logistics companies in North Jiangsu have no significant core competitive advantage. This study broadens the perspective of core competence research, Enrich the industry connotation of the core competition. This paper investigate the factors which influence the third party logistics enterprise’s core competition, and identify the core competition of third-party logistics enterprises in south Jiangsu by the identification system. This is helpful for the third-party logistics enterprises in south Jiangsu recoginzing and improving their competitons within the industry.
