Abstract

Ion chromatography which was a branch of HPLC has been an important instrument to analyse ionic compounds. The stationary phase which was the heart of ion chromatography mostly effected the performance of the whole ion chromatography system. On the basis of its advantages, the silica-based stationary phase for ion chromatography has attracted the attention of researchers. This paper focused on the preparation by click chemistry and application of novel silica-based stationary phase for ion chromatography.Considering that an aspartic molecule contained two carboxyl groups and an amino group, the aspartic was bonded to silica by Click chemistry, following the amino group was transferred to the azide group by an effective azide reagent. The structure of novel silica-based stationary phase was characterized by infrared spectrum, elemental analysis and 13C-CP-MAS. The separation results for ion chromatography and hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC) were not perfect, but the stationary phase was tested to enrich glycopeptides and satisfied results were obtained. The process of Click chemistry could product a three imidazole ring. In order to investigate the mechanism of three imidazole ring, the stationary phase only containing hydroxy or amino except three imidazole ring was prepared by Click chemistry. The structure of novel silica-based stationary phase was characterized by infrared spectrum and elemental analysis. The inorganic anions were separated on the stationary phase and the mechanism was ion exchange, and cation in the eluent could effect the retainment of anions. In addition to, the nucleosides were well separated on the stationary phase.
