Abstract

Fullerene and its derivatives, which are widely used as organic photoelectric materials, are a kind of the hottest molecules studied in the fields of material and chemistry due to their significant photoelectrical properties. In this thesis, four fullerene derivatives containing triphenylimidazole groups (3a~3d) have been synthesized and confirmed by IR, NMR and MS spectra. Single crystal of 2c obtained from ethyl acetate/petroleum ether solvent was measured by using X-ray diffraction. The ultraviolet and fluorescent properties of these products have been studied. The result shows that the nitro and benzyl groups influence the absorption and emission spectra of compounds 2a~2d: both groups induce blue-shift in the ultraviolet spectra, but in the fluorescence spectra, the benzyl group generates blue-shift while the nitro group causes red-shift. The difference of the structures between compounds 3a~3d has no significant impact on the ultraviolet spectra. The solvent effect in the ultraviolet spectra is not obvious, but in the fluorescence spectra, it can be observed. The electrochemical property of these products has been studied by cyclic voltammetry, the result shows that the reduction potentials shift to more negative values compared with C60.The optical limiting properties have been studied using nanosecond and femtosecond timescale. The result shows that compounds 3a and 3c indicate significant optical limiting properties, especially in nanosecond timescale, while the phenomenon of 3b can not been observed owing to the introduction of the nitro groups, which reduce the optical activities and are not in favor of optical limiting. The quantum dots-dye sensitized solar cells (QDSSC) with the photo anode of FTO/TiO2/fullerene derivatives/CdSe, the counter electrode of FTO/Pt and the electrolyte of I3?/I? were prepared. The parameters of QDSSC including open circle voltage, short circle current, fill factor and photoelectric conversion efficiency were measured. The result shows that the photoelectric conversion efficiency is a bit low. The factors which influence the efficiency are films, quantum dots, electrolytes, measuring conditions, et al.
