Abstract


Speaking of Taiwan's politics, especially local politics, local factions must be referred to a phenomenon. To some extent, Taiwan's local politics of factional politics. Decades, in local elections, local factions always play a very important role. Local factions and authoritarian KMT regime constitute the political power of an interdependent relationship. This has become an important feature of Taiwan's social and political structure. Political operation in place, the Farmers' Association has also been considerable concern throughout the countryside. As Taiwan's largest and most grassroots people's organizations, farmers' associations have long been closely related to Taiwan's local political ecology. Shares of local political forces during the local elections for public office is a tempting target shares mobilize the forces of the Farmers' Association, trying to strive for master Farmers systems. Analysis of the history of the development of Taiwan's local factions, the paper argues that the local factions at the cradle of the combination of relationship by blood, geopolitical, human network initiated by the local elites at the grassroots level. Then, through the analysis of the organizational structure and its internal electoral system of the Farmers' Association, we find that the Farmers' Association is not sufficiently high threshold the local factions intervention set, local factions with a smaller price mastered the Farmers' Association, which in the local elections for public office through over the Farmers' Association to mobilize, to get votes.
