Abstract


College English teachers in China occupies an important position in the entire teaching field . Teaching motivation is derived from the internal driving force and demand of teachers have an important role in language teaching . Teaching activities , teaching motivation concrete manifestation of the enthusiasm of teachers teaching , teaching attitude and teaching behavior . It not only affects the teaching quality of teachers and teaching effectiveness ; but also affect their motivation to learn . However, the current domestic and international research focused on exploring the primary and secondary school teachers , practitioners motivation , work motivation , achievement motivation and job satisfaction , relatively little research about the motivation of college English teachers teaching . Based on this , the study attempts to theoretical and practical exploration from a multidisciplinary perspective on the current situation of college English teachers teaching motivation and its influencing factors , expectations can provide a useful reference for college English teaching motivation . This study intends to investigate college English teaching motivation status quo and its influencing factors . The research survey for college English teachers from eight universities in Wuhan ( four key institutions, four ordinary institutions ) ( male teachers and 47 female teachers , 143 ) . In this study, by reading the literature , combined with a questionnaire at home and abroad , as well as consultation with experienced teachers , college English teachers teaching Motivation Questionnaire Scale prepared to investigate the current situation of college English teachers motivated ; differences for different teacher groups analysis , and on the basis of the literature , combined with interviews, to explore the main factors affecting the motivation of college English teachers teaching , to provide favorable conditions for building and optimizing teaching motivation mechanism . Research shows that : overall our university English teachers teaching motivation was the strong side of the trend ; different gender , institutions of teachers teaching motivation exist significantly with differences , and the age , seniority and titles do not exist significant differences ; affecting University English teachers teaching motivation The factors are personal factors , job factors and interpersonal factors . Therefore , education managers can understand the current status quo of college English teachers teaching motivation ; formulate relevant policies and the main influencing factors , and to further improve the motivation of the teaching of college English teachers .
