Abstract

PartΙ:Impact of meteorological factors on the onset of cerebrovascular disease in Nanchang residentsObjective:To investigate the impact of meteorological factors on the onset of cerebrovascular diseaseMethods:The information of inpatients with acute stroke of1972 residents who lived in Nanchang admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University were recruited. The characteristics of stroke onset time in inpatients with cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage and subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) were analyzed, and their occurrence regularity was found out. At the same time, the impact of meteorological factors on the onset of a variety of cerebrovascular diseases and the main meteorological indicators in a month provided by Nanchang Weather Bureau was analyzed, including monthly mean temperature, monthly mean temperature (maximum and minimum), monthly mean atmospheric pressure (maximum and minimum), monthly mean duration of sunshine, monthly mean temperature difference (maximum), and monthly mean atmospheric pressure difference(maximum). Results:The age of the onset of cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage and SAH in males was slightly earlier than females; the onset of cerebral infarction and cerebralhemorrhage in males was higher than in females, while the onset of SAH in females were higher than in males. The onset of cerebral infarction was higher in summer; the onset of cerebral hemorrhage was higher in winter and spring, but it was lower in summer, more patients experienced SAH in winter, and most of the patients were 60 to 80 years of age. Conclusions:The onset of cerebral hemorrhage is more common in winter, but the seasonal pattern of the onset of cerebral infarction is not obvious. Cerebral infarction is associated with the high temperatures and more sunshine, while cerebral hemorrhage is associated with high atmospheric pressure and cold air mass. The mutual synergy or antagonist of a variety of meteorological factors will commonly affect the onset. The abnormal fluctuations of meteorological elements, the imbalance of temperature and atmospheric pressure may easily induce acute stroke. PartⅡ:Change of cellular adhesion molecules expressions in Brain tissue of diabetic rats in pre-stroke condition caused by simulated cold waveObjective:To study the change in cellular adhesion molecules expression in brain tissue of rats in pre-stroke condition caused by simulated cold wave.Methods:16 rats with type 2 diabetes mellitus and 16 normal rats were divided into cold wave exposure and non-exposed subgroups separately(n=8). Take tissue of the optic chiasm plane to make serial sections after disposal in cold boxes for 3 days, then take one section from each eight to test ICAM-1, VCAM-1 and P-selectin in brain tissue by means of immunohistochemistry method, and make HE stain in the rest sections in order to see whether there are stroke lesions or not. Exclude the stroke one then to analysis.Results:1 The neurons which have positive expressions of ICAM-1, VCAM-1, P-selectin in different groups of rats’ cerebral cortex are significant, and the P-selectin also has obvious expressions in the hypothalamus and hippocampus.2 The expression of ICAM-1, VCAM-1 and P-selectin in the normal rats’ cerebral cortex doesn’t ascend obviously in the exposure subgroup , and the result of statistical analysis is P>0.05 showing that there is no significant difference between exposure and non-exposed subgroups3 The expression of ICAM-1, VCAM-1 and P-selectin in the diabetic rats’ cerebral cortex in both the cold wave exposure and non-exposed subgroups ascend obviously higher then the normal groups, and the result of statistical analysis is P <0.05 showing that there are significant differences between them.4 The expression of ICAM-1, VCAM-1 and P-selectin in the diabetic rats’ cerebral cortex in cold wave exposure subgroup ascend obviously higher then non-exposed subgroups, and the result of statistical analysis is P <0.05 showing that there are significant differences between them. Conclusion:The up regulation of cell adhesion molecules may play an important role in the occurrence of stroke, and cold is an important external trigger.
