Abstract


Liu Shao was from the Wei Country. He was well-known as the politician and the thinker in the period of Three Kingdoms. His book“Chronicles of Celebrities”mainly discusses the ability and the personality of peoples’. From the point of ethical view, it also contains a wealth of ethical thoughts. In order to study the book, this paper get started mainly from the following aspects:1, Its foundation of ethical thoughtsFirst, the ethical thoughts in this book chose the monism as its foundation of philosophy. From this book, the monism is not only the element of forming the cosmos, but it also the element of forming the people’s physiology. Second, the theory of human nature ---erecting the nature on the basis of yin and yang, was embodied by“Chronicles of celebrities”. This paper is interpreted from the origin, connotation and performance of personality.2,Its connotation of ethical thoughts.Its connotation of ethical thoughts is mainly manifested in the following four aspects: the moral principle of“link of loving and respecting”, enriching the concept loving and respecting dated from pre-Qin dynasty; the morals cultivating theory of“kindness regarding no offending as the better, while virtuousness regarding self-conscious as the worse”, comprehensively embodying the thoughtful features in the dynasties of Han and Wei; the evaluation of moral from this book, displaying the more improved system of moral evaluation; the ideal personality of“aiming at peace must depend on Saints”, expressing the ideal personality of Liu Shao is rooted in the practice of society and politics and has its reality.3, Its modern enlightenments of ethical thoughts.Its modern enlightenments include the enlightenment to the standardized construction of modern moral according to the moral principle of“link of loving and respecting”, the enlightenment to the modern morals cultivating, according to the modern morals cultivating theory“kindness regarding no offending as the better, while virtuousness regarding self-conscious as the worse”, the enlightenment to the pursuit of modern ideal personality, according to“aiming at peace must depend on Saints”..
