Abstract


Recently the BIM concept that all professionals carry out collaborative work among domains and departments in construction industry has attracted more and more attention by research scholars and civil engineers around the world. The core of the BIM technology is the information sharing and exchanging among the building life cycle. However there are several common problems existing in the BIM development, such as: the building information is lost or incorrect when importing and exporting IFC model files with popular BIM software; the information of multiple projects cannot be stored in a centralized database; the application software based on BIM technology is quite few, etc. These problems seriously hindered the development and application of BIM technology.To solve these problems above and based on BIM conception and the standard of IFC, this thesis is doing the research as below for the goal to forming harmony cooperation among the building life cycle and building the collaborative platform based on BIM technology. The BIM collaborative platform was designed initially and given a brief introduction of the basic function and development status for each module of the platform. BIM database with IFC standard which ensure the correctness and integrity of the building information model during input and output was builded. Based on the BIM database, the budgetary estimates function was developed. The pre-completed IFC-based data sharing and exchange among architectural model and various structural finite element models function was transplanted into the BIM database. Finally thesis through the examples demonstrated application of BIM platform which include input and output of building information models, budgetary estimates and data exchange between IFC model and ETABS model or SAP model.
