Due to the photoelectric technology and computer technology rapid development, the new optical voltage, current transformer is increasingly showing bright prospect and strong vitality, new optical digital voltage, current transformer to replace electromagnetic transformer is a direction of development of relay protection. International Electrotechnical Commission issued IEC61850 standard for digital substation technology, laid theoretical foundation. Intelligent equipment and digital communication technology development and practical, so that the construction of the digital substation based on IEC61850 standard become possible.In this paper, it will research the application of digital substation system of digital substation, introduces the concept and composition, around a conventional transformer, intelligent terminal technology, network communication technology and IEC61850 standards at home and abroad to carry out a circumstance, explain the present stage development of digital substation construction feasibility, pointed out that as the basic unit of future smart grid digital substation is the power technology development trend. In depth analysis of digital substation application research status and development of Jinhua Electric Power Bureau, combined with 500kV ZHIYAN engineering construction, exploration of digital substation design, electrical equipment selection, project implementation and operation and maintenance and other technical problems, research to protect GOOSE network and the procedure of the operation technology and its application in Engineering, optimization of construction scheme of digital substation to further enhance the application level, substation automation. Finally, a comprehensive summary of successful experience in construction projects, and from the reliability, security and other aspects, systematically expounded the all-digital protection system existing problems, combined with the current level of technology, and puts forward the corresponding solutions.All digital protection system is a new technique, at the present stage, the problems and shortcomings of the utility model has the advantages of knowledge and understanding are equally important, combined with the construction experience, the next stage of digital substation and intelligent power grid construction are proposed, to promote the further application of digital substation technology, accelerate the process of smart grid construction.
