Abstract


As a result of increasing environmental pressures in global resources, the deepen process of the electricity market, and more requirements of the reliability and quality in power system, the concept of "smart grid" and "interactive grid" step by step go into the public view. With the rapid development of the electronics and communications technology and the power industry in our country, the substation automation technology has improved continuously. The Digital Substation,as the physical basis of the smart grid,have sprung up. IEC61850 standard that issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission have laid a theoretical basis for substation digital technology. Intelligent equipment and a digital communications technology development and practical use, make the construction of the standard IEC61850-based digital substation possible.In this paper, the application of digital substation will be studied. It detailed the concept and composition of Digital Substation, such as non-transformer, smart terminal technology, network communication technology and implementation of IEC61850 standards, to clarify at this stage to carry out the feasibility of digital substation construction. And the digital substation, which as the basic unit of the future of smart grid is an important direction for the development of electricity technology. In this paper, depth analysis of digital substation at home and abroad applied research development and the status quo, combined with Jinhua Electric Power 500-kilovolt power transmission project construction, into the digital substation design, electrical equipment selection, project implementation and operation and maintenance of technical problems, etc. and discuss the protection of GOOSE and procedures of operation of the network technology in the engineering, optimizing the digital substation building program to further improve the level of substation automation applications. Finally, a comprehensive summary of the successful experience of the construction of the next stage of digital smart grid substation and the construction of proposed substation digital technology to promote in-depth applications, to speed up the process of building a smart grid.
