Abstract

Since the 1980s, with the development of cognitive linguistics, psychology and other disciplines, applied linguistics research focus shifted from \. Previous studies have shown that the main language learners study will contribute significantly to the understanding of second language learning process. Linguistics, learning strategies and learning attitude, disposition and so is considered to be the main factors that affect learners' individual differences. Which popular concern about factors that affect learning strategy. This research, such as Oxford, Ehrman, Cohen and Tarron and so on, but for the study of the relationship between personality factors and learning strategies is very limited. And conclusions based on previous studies, this study selected within / outgoing personality and learning strategies of two variables, using a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods to explore the 1) the use of the English Majors' Learning Strategies; 2) within / the extroverted language learners learning strategies discrepancies; 3) / extrovert relationship between personality and language learning strategies. In this study, the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ-R) and language learning strategies questionnaire as a tool for quantitative research, a survey of 90 randomly selected Nanchang Aeronautical University English majors, and use SPSS13.0 The statistical software descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test and correlation analysis of data collected, the results are as follows: First, descriptive statistics show that the overall strategy of export-oriented learners use levels and memory strategies, cognitive strategies, metacognitive strategies and the frequency of use of specific strategies are significantly higher than the inward-oriented learners. Second, independent samples T-test showed significant difference within the group and outgoing group of students in the overall strategy as well as the use of specific strategies do not exist. Third, the correlation analysis between internal / outgoing personality and language learning strategies in general use there is no significant correlation. The specific strategies, metacognitive strategies with internal / outgoing personality was negatively correlated with memory strategies, cognitive strategies, compensation strategies, affective strategies, social strategies were not significantly related to the relationship. In view of the above findings, the study proposes some teaching suggestions: First, teachers should be aware of students' learning strategy use, adjust and improve their teaching methods to improve teaching effectiveness; Second, teachers should allow students to understand their own character to play their respective character strengths, overcome personality factors that hinder learning English; again, a successful teacher not only be able to \effect, so that students become independent, self-directed learners.
