Abstract


Somalia in the Horn of Africa, because of its prominent location, countries covet the land and the fight has been. The waters off Somalia is to become the world's busiest sea lanes, one should be more than 60% of global trade, as well as offshore oil traffic through this area. The importance of the safety of the waters of the world economy is evident. For the United States, Japan, India, moderately important stakeholders in the country, the security of the Somali waters has extraordinary significance. Increasingly rampant in recent years, however, the problem of piracy has become a huge threat to the region, seriously endanger the safety of maritime shipping. The major countries have sent warships into Somalia to escort and combat piracy. In December 2008, China has also sent warships to escort Somalia. China energy consumption and a major importer. More than 30% of the oil depends on foreign imports, 90% of imported crude oil depends on maritime shipping, and comes mainly from the Arab countries of the Middle East and the Mediterranean. Therefore, the Somali unique natural and geographical attributes waters rich in energy and this maritime transport line, it can be said is the \Both from a geopolitical point of view, the aspects of the energy value, the safety of the waters off Somalia and China's energy security and economic stability of development of the vital national interests are closely linked. Therefore, to ensure the safety and free flow of oil transport channel, to ensure that the Somali regional geopolitical space squeeze to ensure military deterrence the offshore major strategic channel that master the command of the sea, where the center of gravity of all China's naval escort to Somalia national interests. At present, the Chinese navy has become one of the major forces in maintaining the security of the Somali waters. However, in the process of escorting Chinese Navy is facing a lot of problems and challenges, including coordination and cooperation in countries Fleet escort, the United States, India, Japan, the National Naval combat pirates behind different interests in Somalia, the Gulf of Aden modus operandi of Somali pirates, more modern equipment, as well as Chinese naval escort fleet operational capability is limited. Therefore, taking into Somalia is important the multifaceted national interest as well as the problems faced by China in the waters off Somalia to escort and challenges, China should be the basis of economic development, and improve their overall national strength, strengthen international exchanges and cooperation to improve its own soft power, so that other countries understand and support China's national interests in Somalia; Meanwhile, the use of the platform with the other countries in the international cooperation and coordinated action against pirates in Somalia, to strengthen the building of the Navy, to enhance maritime anti-piracy military force, in order to more good to protect maritime shipping security and our national interests.
