Abstract

With the rapid development of power electronic technique, power electronic equipments have been widely used in modern society. The harmonic pollution to the power grid is also becoming more serious, and power quality has been affected severely, which makes operating voltage instable in power system. As a dynamic reactive power compensation devices, Static Var Generator (SVG) has advantages of adjusting speedly and widely with the maintenance of stable voltage and good power quality. It can adjust continuously from capacitive reactive power to inductive reactive power. SVG has superior performance, so it gradually become the main reactive power compensation device in moden power system. This paper analyzes systematically about the development trend of SVG at home and abroad. Then introducing its working principle and control methods. After analyzing and comparing all of the current detection methods, this paper has their advantages and disadvantages. Then it gives a detaile intoduction about the control strategy for voltage-var(VQC) and reactive current detection method which is based on the theory of instantaneous var. The title is based on the research of multiple dynamic power compensation device. Aiming to invent a SVG(4Mvar/10KV) which will be used in Langfang 110KV transformer substation. The chapter four has completed the design of main circuit ,power unit and control scheme, then the parameter of reactor and switching device also are defined. At last, this paper has built a experimental platform (2Kvar/220V), it completed the design of the control circuit board and program, it also achieved the function of reactive power detection, PWM wave and dynamic reactive compensation. The experimental results show that the design of SVG is reasonable and the device has a good compensation effect.
