Abstract


In twenty-first Century, the change of economic growth pattern and the intensification of market competition are bound to create vigorous demand of personnel quantity as well as personnel quality in construction industry. Chongqing as China’s youngest municipality directly under the central government is now facing a historical opportunity bring by West Development strategy. Construction industry as a pillar industry in Chongqing is having an increasing contribution to the whole city’s economy year by year, meanwhile its scale increases gradually and its gross production increases day by day. The development of qualified personnel is surely laid a solid foundation for the construction industry in Chongqing. However, the problems of low-level qualified personnel, unreasonable personnel structure and overall relatively low level technology in Chongqing’s construction industry will seriously restrict the development of the construction industry. Therefore, it is of great significance to increase the study the construction education, to solve problems in Chongqing construction education.The paper set solving the problem in shortage of talents in construction industry, improving overall quality of employees as its goal, and set industry’s demand as its orientation. First the paper had investigated and analyzed the current situation of education and training in construction industry, mainly discussed the achievements and shortcomings of the current Chongqing education system. With comparative analysis of supply and demand in Chongqing construction education market, the paper demonstrated the broad prospects of Chongqing construction education programs and the mismatch between its supply and demand, then made clear the number and variety of employees in construction industry. On the basis of current situation together with supply and demand of Chongqing construction education, the paper had an over all, further, systemic discussion of construction education mode by borrowing ideas from the foreign patterns of advanced education and training methods. The paper re‐analyzed and set up a new position of Chongqing government, training institutions, industry associations, enterprises and individuals, at last constructed an appropriate training system of Chongqing construction education. This training system is mainly composed of construction education operating mechanism, teaching system and guarantee system.The paper confirmed the importance and necessity of constructed the training system of Chongqing construction education. This training system provides decision-making basis for the educational reform and development in construction industry, and it provides reference for the government, construction industry, training institutions and enterprises to develop education training programs.
