With the development of society and economy, people’s living standard and consumption idea are changed greatly. The consumption demand turns material needs security into spiritual satisfaction.The pace of life is increasing and the pressure of competitive is more and more intense, people need more spiritual leisure and relaxation than other time. The books have occupied an important position in our study, work and life, which as a symbol of the progress of human civilization. The influx of e-books make paper books is no longer the only carrier or reading necessary choice. E-books attract people’s attention quickly with low cost, convenient, fast download. Doubtlessly, paper books are facing unprecedented challenges. How to design a book both according with books basic functions and meeting the emotional needs of consumers growing has developed into the research focus. Interesting books are designed by creative activities, so that let the reader in a relaxed, cheerful environment unknowingly into books, and thereby more positive, more accurate understanding books content, feeling the joy of reading.This issue combines "interesting" with modern books design. Do more research and exploration on interesting books design, start with the emotional needs of different age groups. Summarize the characteristics, unique functions and vales of interesting books design.First, This article summarized the meaning of referred to "interesting" by studying of the concept of "interesting" of all time, and take a few excellent award books for example, specifically addressed of the characteristics of interesting book design, supply the theoretic support for the inevitability and necessity of the applications of interesting books design.Secondly, this article will discussed the unique function and value of interesting book design in three aspects of the need of the people, social harmony and stability and books itself.Finally, specifically discusses how to design a very interesting book from books shape structure, function, and the interaction with people, etc.
