Abstract


In recent years, China’s sports system has been changing from Whole Nation System to Sports Club System. As the gradual penetration of reform of sports system and emerging problems during the reform, further theoretical analysis on effectiveness of these two systems has become an urgent requirement. However, there is few work has been done on theoretical analysis. Based on previous research on transition of sports system and varieties of facts witnessed in table tennis, this paper developed an economic model to compare the effectiveness of whole nation system and sports club system in terms of both competitive sports and civil sports. By using the developed economic model, we found out the origin of the difficulties emerging from the sports system reform, answered when sports club system is more effective than whole nation system and generated some useful recommendations on China’s sports system reform.
