The Application of the Situational Teaching Method in English Classroom Teaching at Vocational Colleges

Abstract


With the globalization and development of information technology , English plays an important role in people's daily life , the community has also put forward higher requirements for the teaching of English . However, the fact that most vocational colleges are still using the traditional teaching of English . Cultivation of traditional English teaching neglected the cultivation of students ' interest in learning the language , students ignored the main role and practical application ability . To solve the above problem , analyze the situation and students of English Teaching English proficiency , the authors believe the situational approach applied to vocational English classroom teaching is a very appropriate choice . From education, psychology , linguistics angle constructivist theory , Krashen understanding of input and situational cognitive theory as the main theoretical basis , situational approach for effective classroom knowledge of English input , and this research applied to the experiment to examine the suitability . In order to analyze the scenario teaching in college English classroom teaching , first in Zibo vocational schools vocational students 'English proficiency test and a questionnaire on students ' interest in learning English , and then select the two the basis of English classes --- P09 pre-school three shifts ( experimental class ) and P09 computer intervals ( control classes ) conducted a five-month English teaching experiment . Teaching experiments , P09 pre-school three shifts situational approach , and the P09 computer intervals continue to use the traditional teaching mode , teaching . Experimental results show that the level of English of the experimental class at the end of the experiment have been significantly improved , while the control class English scores decreased rather than before the experiment . In addition, analysis of the data from the questionnaire found significantly increased in the experiment, the students ' interest and confidence in the English language . This shows that the situational approach has a positive role in promoting vocational students learning English , which has a positive role in boosting students' English language acquisition . Although this article there are some limitations, the authors hope that the inquiry teaching method research for future scenarios play a reference for the role , but also hope to the future situational approach in college English classroom teaching help.
