Abstract


In this paper, relevance translation theory as a guide to the translation of the sitcom \the explanatory power of the field of translation , and pointed out the significance of the theory and practical value . First, relevance theory expounded in translation studies association principles, namely relevance theory that \effect \Secondly, from the subtitle translation particularity , that the translator should follow the dual space restrictions , under the premise of the translator to state the reasoning process of dual identity , that is, first the target language cognitive environment of the audience to make assumptions in order to estimate their expectations, then the translator to understand the original author 's communicative intention to seek optimal relevance of information and the use of appropriate translation strategies to ensure the audience with minimal effort to get the maximum amount of information processing , in order to verify whether the translation is similar to accept the original language discourse . Finally, the field representative subtitle translation Translation U.S. drama \Subtitle Translation explanatory power , emphasizing the different types of humor should be complemented by different translation strategies to provide for the subtitle translation practice theoretical and methodological reference .
