Abstract


Corporal punishment is one of parents' parenting style commonly used, many foreign studies have found that parental corporal punishment on children's development of a series of short-term or long-term negative effects of corporal punishment by parents therefore investigate the factors affecting individual for promoting the healthy growth of great significance . Parental corporal punishment occurs in a complex interplay among family environment, parents, children and other individual factors and family factors will be of corporal punishment by parents have an important influence. Factors Influencing parental corporal punishment previous research has focused on individual factors such as parents and children in the study, there is little empirical study examines the role of family factors. Additionally, parental corporal punishment in the family is the most important place to place, so the family factors on the impact of corporal punishment by parents is very important. While studies have revealed the impact of foreign parents corporal punishment aspects of some families, but these studies examined only the mother or the influencing factors of corporal punishment, corporal punishment or to his father and mother to inspect corporal punishment as a whole, there is no research to father and mother separately to examine the incidence of corporal punishment in school. In addition, previous studies only examined family factors on the impact of the role of corporal punishment by parents and family factors and parental corporal punishment on the relationship between the lack of mechanisms discussed. Therefore, this study intends to corporal punishment by parents of pre-school children and study the relationship between family factors in order to better understand parental corporal punishment of children in pre-school and the relationship between family factors and its mechanism. This study used cluster sampling method, from Jinan City, two kindergartens taken as 631 children and their parents were tested, parent-child conflict resolution to Straus Strategies Inventory (CTSPC), Achenbach's Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL), Rothbart preparation Children Temperament Scale (CBQ), Locke-Wallace Marital Adjustment Scale as a research tool, used questionnaires for parents of pre-school children and collect test check corporal punishment of parents, parental history of childhood corporal punishment, children adapt to the variable (inside and outside of problem behavior), child temperament variables between parents marital quality and other relevant data. The main conclusions are as follows: a 64.3% of fathers and 72.7 percent of mothers reported in the last year had been implemented corporal punishment of children, of which 62.8 percent of fathers and 71.2 percent of mothers reported mild corporal punishment had implemented before children, 19.5% fathers and 22.3% of the mothers had children in the report had harsh corporal punishment. Corporal punishment in the implementation of the parents, the father reported frequent sexual mild corporal punishment is 3.50 times the frequency of severe corporal punishment is 0.80 times; mothers reported frequent sexual mild corporal punishment is 4.76 times the frequency of severe corporal punishment is 1.03 times. Two parental corporal punishment features with significant gender differences, but there is no age differences. Specifically, the parents of boys than girls universality of corporal punishment; implementation of mild corporal punishment against children of both sexes, the frequency of severe corporal punishment were not significantly different; father seriousness of corporal punishment for boys was significantly higher than girls, the mother of men and women seriousness of corporal punishment of children there was no significant difference. The parents of each age group (3 years, 4 and 5 years old) children in mild corporal punishment, severe corporal punishment universality, frequency and severity are not significantly different. 3 on family factors and the father of corporal punishment relationship, the study found, the family socio-economic status and father corporal punishment there is no significant correlation; in the control of his father's own factors, childhood factors on the father of corporal punishment effects, the father reported their own marital quality can significantly negative predictor father corporal punishment. 4 on family factors and maternal corporal punishment relationships, the study found, family socioeconomic status and mother corporal punishment there is no significant correlation; in the control of the mother's own factors, childhood factors on mothers corporal punishment after the effects of mothers reported their own marital quality can significantly negative predictor of maternal corporal punishment. 5 In the report, the father, the family socio-economic status of corporal punishment in the marriage between the father can not afford quality and regulation; report in the mother, the family socio-economic status of corporal punishment in the marriage between quality and regulate the mother, the high socio-economic status can effectively ease mothers' marital quality impact of corporal punishment on the mother.
