Abstract


Newspaper is a media that issued regularly to the reader mainly about news and current affairs. The published newspaper can be divided into the daily, weekly newspapers, periodicals and newspapers according to the time. The daily and evening paper are the two main paper forms or a branch of them. Because of different purposes and the audiences, the word style and the language style of headlines are different. With the increase of the volume of information in modem society, most people want to obtain maximum information in a quicker way and this gradually become the mainstream. So the study of style difference is good for the daily and the evening newspaper which have a highly relationship with people’s daily life. And all of these will satisfy the readers need.First, the styles of the newspaper, language and the newspaper headlines language have been defined and then the theory meanings and the realistic significance have been illustrated. The differences of pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar of different newspaper headlines language styles have been analyzed. And so did the expression form and the rhetorical device.Then, the collected daily and evening newspaper headlines has been compared about the language style: grave and humor, direct and implicate, profound and simple. At last the reason cause of language style difference has been explored deeply, and could provide experience in deeper study.
