Abstract


With the the active small towns after the reform and opening up, the development of China's small cities and towns began to keep pace with the urban development has become an important thrust in the process of urbanization. Under the new situation in the whole country to promote the development of urbanization, the role of small towns can not be underestimated. However, due to its weak foundation, in a bottleneck in the development of the multi-faceted attack, the development is still a long way to go in the future. In this study, in order to promote the of Hubei Province whole town to promote for the purpose through the site survey, interviews and questionnaires the form of a variety of investigations, conducted a field survey of 57 typical small town in Hubei Province, to obtain a comprehensive coverage of Hubei Province within small towns, various levels of economic and spatial development, the timeliness and relevance of valuable first-hand information. Combination of the typical empirical case, the integrated use of the method of literature review and inductive analysis, comprehensive background on the development of small towns in Hubei Province, the history, development, characteristics, power problems and potential for development, systems analysis, and finally proposed the development path. This study draw from the analytical background and experience, the three parts of the body including the course of development and development characteristics of the small town of Hubei Province, \The course of development of the small towns in Hubei Province in the first part of the course of development and development of the small town of Hubei Province characteristics, first division, and subsequently the space of a small town in Hubei Province, population and industry level characteristics were analyzed, come to the development of small towns in Hubei Province, lack of motivation, and the reasons are discussed.
