Abstract

With the pace of domestic infrastructure continues to accelerate, the truck crane for lifting operations in the whole position in the entire field of construction machinery has become increasingly important, while the lifting capacity of cranes, safety requirements are getting higher and higher. Crane boom structure as the main force component, the strength, stiffness and stability directly affect the machine performance, and the critical factor which affects the mechanical properties is the section form. The section form has a continuously optimized and improved through the years, the current more advanced form in the domestic truck crane is the U-section.The research content of this paper is the new U-section crane boom structure. First of all, using the traditional analytic method to calculate the mechanical properties of the boom structure with the crane design specification, based on this theoretical result to assess the boom design reasonability preliminary. Then, to run the finite element static analysis and the buckling analysis for the boom structure with the ANSYS Workbench software. The stress of cloud, the displacement of cloud and modal map had been extracted from the results, by observing these results data to determine whether the design of the boom structure to meet the strength, stiffness, stability requirements and to predict the future failure state of the boom, these results give a theoretical basis for boom modified. Finally, the stress as the goal, the quality as the reference , the existing cross-section form to be optimized, and to obtain the final improved cross-section, this new section of a boom not only improve the mechanical properties of the materials and also saves. The feature of this article is the use of traditional methods and modern methods combined to study the performance of the U-section boom, and a more comprehensive theoretical basis to be provided for the re-design. The results of this study have been applied to the model of truck crane products.
