Abstract


The approval design of ship engine room is inevitable in the ship design and construction stage, and it is quite important in ship overall design. Therefore, the integration, digitalization, intelligentization and automation should be achieved in the work of marine auxiliary design techniques. In the conventional methods, CAD(Computer Aided Design) system is partially used by designers,the main designing work is done by artificial repeatedly designs and gradually improvements, which makes the time of the whole design process longer, and the extent of automation lower. Accurate positioning of software interactive is very important for repairing and calling of all piping systems in engine room, so it is urgent for us to seek after the new design methods and means. The promotion of CAD/CAM software has replaced the time-consuming labor. It plays an important part in reducing graphics workload, accelerating the renewal of products and developing the new ship.At present, the main approval job is finished by foreign expensive software so that the shipbuilding enterprises cost will be too high; furthermore shipping standards for the software are different. Therefore it is essential that the approval design software of ship engine room should be established according to technology foundation of CAD secondary development and the actual situation in our country for improving quality and effectiveness of the approval design According to the weakness of the current approval design of ship engine room, AutoCAD ActiveX and batch processing, and the marine approval design regulation, the approval design software of ship engine room is developed by using front-end development tools VB 6.0 and background management database SQL 2000, which settles technological basis for seeking for new design method and exploring more automated approval design system.In this paper, the integrated database development for the approval design system of ship engine room is carried out, and the database of all systems in engine room are established by analyzing the characteristics of ship engine room system design and present research situation around the world. The functions of engine room approval system are that calculation and choose of equipments can be finished, approval drawing can be output automatically and modified in condition of batch processing, and calculation sheets can be output automatically and printed, etc. In this paper, the approval design system of ship engine room, drawings of all systems and modeling calculation provide advanced preparations for the subsequent overall design, thereby the repeatability labor is much reduced, working efficiency and quality are much improved, the synthetic performances for computer are much developed, and also it offers certain reference value for follow-up study.
