Abstract

OFDM and MIMO technologies are the key technologies of the future communication systems , OFDM technology can be broadband channel is divided into a number of narrowband subchannels , subchannel is flat and perpendicular to each other ; MIMO multiple antenna technology in each subchannel greater channel capacity . Therefore, by their combination of the MIMO-OFDM communication system capacity while against fading and noise suppression. The variability of the complexity of MIMO-OFDM system and wireless communication channel channel estimation techniques to face a lot of challenges in the system . Based on this , the paper on MIMO-OFDM system channel estimation technology research and analysis : ( 1) study a general fading characteristics of the wireless channel , establish a basic channel model . Principle and technical characteristics on the composition of the MIMO technology and the OFDM technology research , using Matlab computer software simulation analysis of MIMO system capacity , and outlines the basic structure and principles of MIMO-OFDM system . ( 2 ) analysis of the channel estimated technology in MIMO-OFDM systems important role and significance , in-depth study MIMO-OFDM system in the basic letter channel estimation algorithm , channel estimation traditional algorithm LS and MMSE respectively conducted simulation and compare the two methods the difference in performance . (3) focus on MIMO-OFDM system channel estimation method based on the expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm . The complexity of the EM algorithm is relatively high , but because of its small footprint , it can make up for the deficiencies of the traditional channel estimation method . Of the EM algorithm , the first non- coding the MIMO-OFDM system based on the EM algorithm channel estimated method , with the traditional pilot assisted phase combination , the received signal information and letter channel by using the EM algorithm of statistical characteristics were simulated and compared with the traditional Wiener interpolation method . The simulation results show a better performance . ( 4 ) through the analysis of the STBC coding performance simulation STBC MIMO-OFDM system channel estimation method based on the EM algorithm and simulation with traditional adaptive channel estimation algorithm - RLS method . Simulation results show that the EM-based estimate of having a better performance in the high SNR region , and by the combination with the Alamouti STBC , also effectively reduces the complexity .
