Abstract


Objective To detect the expression of livin in simple benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)and BPH combined with prostatitis,also with the apoptosis index(AI)、proliferating index(PI)in BPH tissues, to evaluate the effect of inflammation on the development and progression of BPH.Methods All specimens were obtained from patients undergoing transurethral prostatic resection(TURP).The paraffin section of the specimens was stained with hematoxylin and eosin,and observed under light microscope to examine the inflammation pathological changes.The expression of livin were detected by immunohistochemitry and Real time PCR.The expression of Ki-67 were detected by immunohistochemitry.Meanwhile,apoptosis was demonstrated by TUNEL methe. To work out the I-PSS scores by Questionnaires.Results1 The incidence of BPH combined with prostatitis is 75.00%.low-grade accounting for 41.67%,moderate prostatitis accounting for 21.67%, high-grade accounting for 11.67%.The inflammatory cells located both in interstitial and around glandulars,but mainly around glandulars.2 The expression of livin was significantly higher in BPH combined with prostatitis than that in simple BPH (P<0.01).There were differences of livin expression in different degrees of prostatitis(P<0.05).Livin mainly located in glandular epithelium and around the glandular.3 The expression of livin mRNA was higher in BPH combined with prostatitis than that in simple BPH (P<0.01). The expression of livin mRNA was the least in simple BPH ,take second place in low-grade and moderate prostatitis, the most in high-grade prostatitis(P<0.001). 4.The trend of AI is more severity the prostatitis is the more dimin it it becomes.But the change of PI have no significance in the research.5. I-PSS :I-PSS are significantly higher in BPH combined with prostatitis than that in simple BPH (P<0.01),and the scores have positive correlation with the degree of prostatitis.Conclusion BPH patients is often associated with different degrees of Prostatitis. Prostatitis can up-regulate livin expression in BPH. The trend of I-PSS change in BPH patients associated with different degrees of Prostatitis indicates that the inflammation in BPH aggravated the LUTS and BOO of BPH patients.As The inflammation of the BPH tissues become more Serious ,the AI downed, but the changes of PI meaningless.Prostatitis appeared to play an important role in the development of BPH. It prompts that the Prostatitis may through Changing the IAPs member livin’expression to suppress the apoptosis of cell ,especially the glandular epithelium and stromal cells around the glandular, to participate the development of BPH.
