Abstract

Prefabricated chunks plays an important role in language learning. In the past a long period of time, linguists and language learners that language learning should be guided by the rule, and therefore too much emphasis on the role of grammar in language production. The last two decades, psycholinguistics, corpus linguistics and sociolinguistics of language prefabricated chunks showed high interest. Prefabricated chunks constituted by the combination of multiple vocabularies, a holistic form of storage in the brain and expressed an overall mean, they are in the process of language constructs, not act as a guiding rule, but rather act as an example role. For this kind of special language units, some linguists as Alison Wray (2002) and others call the prefabricated chunks. Prefabricated chunks are often seen as a separate language units, once after study and understand the advance in the use of the language can be stored in the brain, directly Exotic. It diligent in language production reduce consumption, improve language fluency, enhance the authentic nature of language plays a very important role. Most scholars think prefabricated chunks is negligible in terms of the language of the main early linguistic research, more prefabricated chunks seen as an exception is the syntax for the core language learning. But in the last two decades, researchers have actually tend to center paradigm for language learning mode, they believe that learning is the example of the prefabricated chunks build, and that these prefabricated chunks late creative use of language plays an important The role (Nattinger DeCarrico, 1992). This study used a combination of quantitative and qualitative analysis, trying to prove in writing tests, prefabricated chunks plays an important role for EFL learners demonstrate writing effect and improve writing skills. The study is based on four natural classes Jilin University undergraduate sophomore of 100 students in four essay subjects. This difference is mainly determined by the characteristics of the structure and function of the prefabricated chunks. Based on the above correlation analysis, the authors put forward some suggestions for future research, the emphasis in the teaching and learning of English should increase the emphasis on prefabricated chunks in different categories of prefabricated chunks.
