Abstract


In recent years, Incidental Vocabulary Acquisition attracted more and more interest in the majority of researchers in the field of second language vocabulary acquisition. Many domestic and foreign researchers on to promote reading vocabulary in a variety of factors were discussed. However, for the different conditions (such as marginal notes provide page dictionary) not a comprehensive study on incidental vocabulary acquisition impact, in addition, the size of the vocabulary and incidental vocabulary acquisition and vocabulary memory retention relationship remains to be further explored. In this study, through partial repetition Hulstijn et al (1996) experiment and be improved on the basis of its attempt to explore for the medium level of English non-English major sophomore, different reading conditions (page marginal notes provide dictionary does not provide any help) and the Acquisition and Vocabulary memories that came to their vocabulary to keep will be the effect of the size of the vocabulary. The experimental extract the Inner Mongolia Medical College, 121 sophomore non-English major students as experimental subjects. The subjects were from three parallel classes, and the experiments before they are balanced on the numbers and vocabulary. The subjects were randomly assigned to three reading conditions: the first page of meaning marginal notes (marginal notes group); second dictionary (dictionary group); meaning third does not provide annotation and dictionary (control group). Incidental Vocabulary Acquisition in an experiment the two vocabulary test (immediate test and delayed test) and a vocabulary test is completed. The subjects' vocabulary size is based on the \To understand the effect that the main subjects completed a reading task and completed two tests to detect the continuity of their acquisition of the target word vocabulary memorization. The quantitative analysis of experimental data is carried out by the the SPSS V17.0 statistics software. Teachers should be taught in the teaching of reading in the usual strategies and techniques to the students to guess the meaning from the context, to enable students to develop good reading habits, Teachers should guide students, especially those smaller than the vocabulary of the students, the supplied learning and interested in learning to combine, so as to improve their vocabulary acquisition.
