Abstract


In second language research areas, a large number of documents to support Kroll and Groot (1997) proposed the development of changes in assumptions. This assumption that: in the process of second language learners learn the language, such a process of change, along with raising the level of vocabulary knowledge, beginners from start learning a second language and advanced English learners rely on the phrase knowledge is not dependent on a language knowledge conceptual processing. This assumption that bilingual lexical representation \Understanding of the importance of the second language mental lexicon can be seen as an important factor activation and expansion of learners' mental lexicon is successful second language acquisition. Second Language Vocabulary knowledge is Henriksen (1999), one of the elements of vocabulary competency framework, but also constitute an important part of the Nation (1990) Lexical Competence is also the core of the communicative competence Meara (1996c). In view of this, the basic assumption is that second language vocabulary knowledge of second language mental lexicon extraction has an important influence. Therefore, this study attempts to explore the relationship of vocabulary knowledge of second language and second language lexicon knowledge extraction, especially second language vocabulary knowledge of second language mental lexicon semantic extraction Effect. This article explores the impact of second language vocabulary knowledge level of the mental lexicon of Chinese learners of English semantic retrieval. Adult learners of English as the research object, the present study seeks to answer the following three questions: (1) Second Language Vocabulary knowledge affect the assumptions based on the the semantic extraction efficiency of Second Language Vocabulary knowledge of English learners in China affect Chinese English semantic extraction efficiency of the learners? (2) different start-up conditions will affect the the semantic extraction efficiency? (3) the level of second language vocabulary knowledge and interaction of different startup conditions will affect the efficiency of semantic retrieval for research purposes? , this integration Chapelle (1998), Meara (1996a, 1996c) and Nation (1990) conceptual framework based on Lexical Competence issued two experimental questionnaires and organized an experiment. Controlling active vocabulary test questionnaire for assessment level of vocabulary knowledge. Start lexical decision task experiments used to test the response of the subjects to stimulate vocabulary delay and accuracy, the test to determine the semantic extraction efficiency. Sexual lexical decision task start words and associated word semantic association in order to control the start of the study designed a rating table issued in the form of a questionnaire. The experimental results showed that the the semantic extraction efficiency of a higher level of vocabulary knowledge of English language learners second language mental lexicon significantly higher than those with lower levels of vocabulary knowledge of English learners, confirming the semantic lexicon for Second Language Vocabulary knowledge The extraction will affect the assumptions. Therefore, second language vocabulary knowledge factor is an important factor in the process of development of the semantic extraction efficiency, this study provides a new perspective for the development of the second language mental lexicon.
