Abstract

English subjunctive grammarians and linguists have always been the focus of research, many scholars have studied from different angles subjunctive. Grammar scholars subjunctive definition, classification and existence value for discussion, and linguistic scholars tried to use linguistic theory to explain its causes, and explain the focus is in the subjunctive verb tenses unconventional usage. The authors indicate the pragmatics of language study linguistics and cognitive psychological distance conceptual metaphor theory are combined to establish a model based on the metaphor of psychological distance of the subjunctive verb tenses to explain the usage of the internal mechanism. This model includes the temporal domain and the psychological state of the domain two cognitive domains, and the subjunctive verb tenses in performance, in fact, the expression on people and the reality in the opposite event a metaphor for the psychological state of the phenomenon.
