Abstract


Toni Morrison, winner of the 1993 Nobel Prize for Literature in today's most prestigious African-American women writers. Her third novel, published in 1977, \In the novel, her focus on African Americans and the fate of the race in an unfair society, she tells the story of black people in the tireless chasing the dream and trying to find their own place in the story of American society. This paper examines several generations of African-American pursuit of the American dream and confused. By reading the novel \The Dade family novel is the entire black race sad history is a witness. By revealing the true situation of the Dade family, Morrison tells us that in the environment of slavery and racism, African Americans easily crippled physically and mentally. Similarly, the novel also write to the unfair treatment of African-Americans living in beautiful desire and reality dissatisfaction and blacks. Although many scholars of the novel made a lot of valuable research, this paper aims to elaborate Morrison told her readers several generations of African Americans have been in pursuit of the American dream in a different way, and the existing confusion. Dreams are Difficult because racism is a big obstacle in the way of their way to a happy life. At the same time, she also pointed out that the way out of the confusion is not the overall absorption of white cultural values, is not to take extreme way, but CASINO long black traditional culture and white culture. She pointed out that African-American people and culture is an integral part of American society. Only real aware of this African-American to fly in the United States leave the ground. This thesis discusses in detail the African-Americans and their confusion of the pursuit of the American dream. INTRODUCTION reviewed literature reviews on the novel, the origins of the American Dream and its presented before African-American literature, and introduces the chapter structure of this paper. The first chapter discusses the African American pursuit of the American dream, in this chapter, I examine the different ways that their pursuit of the American dream. The second chapter analyzes the confusion suffered by blacks. The third chapter analyzes a way out of the black cultural heritage as the dreams of people out of confusion. In this chapter, I discussed the importance of black culture. Morrison Ethiopian traditional culture is a source of strength for them by a dream out of the confusion. The conclusion summarizes the full papers, and reiterated that the issues discussed in this paper.
