Abstract


As one of the most popular thoughts of education in the twentieth century, the idea of building life-long education and learning society has become the goal of education and social development in many countries. Community study has been the foundation of national research, while learning community has become the basic element of learning society.Regarding to learning community, a case of Benyue Road of Chongqing City had been taken into investigation of general and specific issues during its construction and the success experiences achieved in foreign countries and China had also been analyzed. The aim of present study is to take the original success approaches as references to offer a theoretical assistance on making excellent police upon community education.Current study comprises four distinct parts:In the first part, the patterns of building learning community in foreign countries and China had been analyzed detailedly using reference researching and comparison method. These patterns were chosen from the USA, Northern Europe, Japan, Beijing, Shanghai and Wuhan.In the second part, the present situation of building learning community in benyue road community had been briefly introduced.In the third part, the questionnaire survey and interviews had been used to investigate the community education in Benyue road community. Then the problems existed in the building of learning community had been summarized as follows:the attention and understanding of the residents for the building of learning community needs to be improved; the concepts on learning community in residents remain unclear; The supply of community education from government cannot match the demands of learning for residents. Multiple ways of making learning atmosphere in community education must be taken into consideration in future.In the fourth part, the reasons had been analyzed upon the problems above, three suggestions had been put forward:Firstly, leading role for the building of learning community has to be played by the government; Secondly, propaganda and learning atmosphere have to be strengthen to stimulate the learning potential of residents by the community; Finally, measures have to be taken to promote the integration of education and to enrich the education modes.
