Abstract

This thesis researches whether there is an relationship between students’ taking of positions and posts in class and students’consciousness of class based on the prospective of class life. Students’consciousness of the class includes their senses of responsibility to the class, their perceptions of the class and their status in class. The researcher chose two quite different classes, research them mainly quantitatively and supplementally qualitatively. One of the two classes has implemented an reform of class construction which mostly aims at the cultivating of students’sociality and personalities as part of the Reform of New Basic Education. It has long-term, mature practice in the cultivating of class monitors, constructing of class posts, constructing of class tacit and explicit culture, theme class activities and large-scale activities in school. While, the other class makes less practice in class construction. The main process of research is, classifying the positions and posts of all students, and coding every student’s experiences of taking positions and posts, and then, making correlation analyses between the codes and students’ consciousness of class which is obtained by the questionnaire. At last, combined with the text analyzing, the researcher put forward the following conclusions.First, in H class which provides students with diverse, stable and flexible, provisional posts, and allows students many chances of taking part in activities and taking positions and posts, students improbably have differences in tends for consciousness of class.Second, in K class, which provides students mostly stable positions and posts, there are the following relationships between students’taking positions and posts in class life and consciousness of class.The first point is the total number of every student’s positions and posts is related to students’consciousness of discipline in class and helping classmates with studying.The second point is the times of being commissaries in charge of study, main course representatives, or team leader is related to the consciousness of helping classmates with studying.The third point is the taking of great captain who is also the monitor, junior captain who is also group leader, or inspector who is also called danger inspector or supervisor is related to whether one is egoistic, consider himself or herself too much. In consideration of the three positions and posts are in charge of discipline in class, the research hold that the point resulted from these kinds of students contacts with classmates and the circumstances more often, so they may be more possible to have more reasonable recognition of themselves.
