Objective: To explore the older children (6 years of age and above) clubfoot treatment methods and effects . Methods : June 2006 to June 2010 , the Court orthopedic admitted Older Horseshoe varus children with 46 cases ( 56 foot ) , aged 6 to 16 years old , 26 males and 20 females , unilateral club foot 36 cases , bilateral horseshoe varus in 10 cases. According to the etiology of congenital clubfoot foot (A group ) and traumatic Horseshoe varus (B group) , including 31 cases of group A (41 feet ), B group 15 patients ( 15 feet) . From morphology ( 12 points ) , function ( 36 points) , imaging ( 12 points ) three by ICFSG score ratings assigned to the the deformity most serious 60 points from the normal 0 priority 0 to 5 points , good 6 ~ 15 , 16 ~ 30 Poor 31 ~ 60 minutes . Preoperative score of 56 foot , excellent 0 feet, good feet, 17 feet , 11 feet (A group , B group 6 feet ), the difference of 39 foot (A set of 30 feet , the B group 9 foot ) . 46 patients using the Ilizarov external fixator correct deformities and foot deformity extent and nature according to the age of the child , and the presence of severe bone malformation change , combined with the soft tissue release , Achilles tendon extend or talonavicular joint V-shaped osteotomy limited surgical treatment . Results: 46 patients ( 56 feet) in children followed up for 9 months to 4 years , evaluable for efficacy press the ICFSG scoring , excellent in 40 feet 30 feet ( groups A , B group 10 feet ) , good in 11 feet (A group of 8 feet , B group 3 feet) , 5 feet 3 feet ( group A , group B 2 feet) and poor enough , three cases of needle tract reaction occurs , no residual deformity . Using SPSS17.0 analysis of two sets of excellent rate , no significant differences ( P gt ; 0.05) . Conclusion : Older children ( 6 years and older) clubfoot treatment time later , abnormal weight , using the traditional surgical correction of the deformity , the treatment ineffective , and easy to relapse using Ilizarov external fixator Older Children Horseshoe varus minimally invasive , safe, satisfied with the effect of correction of deformity , ankle function well and less recurrence , after treatment of the Older Children Horseshoe varus foot deformity preference .
