Second Language Acquisition research on the the Interlanguage ability of second language learners and their development characteristics . This study to measure the three groups of learner language level ( high school , University of non - English majors and college English professional learners ) basis , in order to weaken the use of modifiers as the starting point to study Chinese English learners with knowledge development characteristics . This article is a corpus-based research , Chinese English learner corpus is divided into three parts , the high school, the University of non - English majors and English major at the University of learner corpus , using WordSmith Tool 5.0 analysis and research . In this study, use of Chinese English learners weakening modifiers overall analysis , with class symbol pictogram its accuracy and focus from the analysis of eight weakening modifiers ( almost , nearly , enough , rather , just only, hardly, at all) with the use . Generally speaking , Chinese English learners use weakening the modifiers with accuracy and complexity , and is proportional to the level of students' English : the higher the level , with the higher accuracy , with the structure . The more complex . Enough to use , rather , just at all collocation items , major differences appear in the two groups of high school and college English professional learning , the University 's non-English speaking professional and college English majors in both groups .
